FAQ'S

Sugaring & Brazilians

Q: What about Pre and Post Sugaring Care?

A: Body sugaring hair removal is safe for all skin types, even the most sensitive! Since the sugar paste never adheres to live skin cells, only the dead cells will be removed acting as a gentle exfoliation. Because of this we ask that you do not exfoliate the day of your appointment, You should also avoid using any creams or lotions. For best results, please shower the day of or before your sugaring appointment

Sugaring vastly reduces ingrown hairs and blemishes. Most of our clients find that a regular exfoliating & moisturizing routine is enough to prevent ingrown hairs. (We recommend waiting a day before exfoliating the sugared area) A good rule of thumb is to exfoliate very time you take a shower. We designed our Sei-Bella Flawless Exfoliating Scrub to encourage cell turnover and condition the skin, perfect for sugaring after-care!

Things to avoid for 24 hours after your appointment:

* Perfumes
* Scented creams/lotions
* Deodorant, if you had your underarms sugared
* Heat, such as saunas and steam rooms
* Direct sunlight or tanning beds
* Perspiration. Let this be your excuse to skip going to the gym!

Q: What is the difference between a traditional bikini, thong bikini, and Brazilian?

A: For a traditional bikini, we’ll clean up just the sides and top of your bikini line; which would normally show while wearing a traditional bathing suit.

For a thong bikini the sides and top, as with the bikini, but the thing that makes it different is that we’ll go in more and also do in between the cheeks in the behind if desired. In essence, we’ll remove any hair that might peak out if you’re wearing a thong or "skimpy" bikini.

A Brazilian is the removal of all pubic hair, especially the labial hair, as well as between the cheeks if desired. We can leave a strip or patch of hair at the top if desired. We also offer to remove the "treasure trail" line for free with every bikini or Brazilian service.

Q: I am prone to ingrowns, what can I do to help this?

A: There are a few basic things you can do to reduce and get rid of ingrown hairs. First and foremost, exfoliate and moisturize! Using a natural bristle body brush, exfoliating cloth or brush, or our Exfoliating scrub (recommended); you’ll keep dead skin cells from trapping new hair growth under your skin. The second step is to keep your skin healthy and moisturized. A good rule of thumb is, whenever your skin gets wet (after every shower or bath) moisturize. We sell our Flawless Skin Crème which is a vegan, all-natural moisturizing lotion that also prevents in-growns, heals skin and fades scars.

If you find your ingrown are painful and pustoulous, add an antibacterial ingredient (such as dead sea salt and/or Hungarian mud) to disinfect and help draw out the bacteria.

We also have our organic Ingrown Be Gone roll on for spot treating.

Feel free to ask reception about these products at your appointment!

Q: How long should my hair be?

A: For best results your hair should be atleast 1/8 of an inch long (1/4 inch for legs), or 5 to 7 days of growth.

Q: Will it hurt as much as waxing?

A: Most people find that body sugaring hurts far less than waxing, but it all depends on your own pain tolerance. The first time is the worst, and after that pain is usually reduced to half or less for maintenance appointments.

Q: How long should I wait between appointments?

A: For most services we recommend coming in every 4  weeks for best results. Some areas, such as upper lip and underarms grows more quickly and you my find coming in sooner to be best.

Timing may vary depending on your growth cycle and how long you’ve been sugaring. Ask your sugarer for their recommendation on your next visit.

Q: What is VIP maintenance?

A: VIP maintenance is a discount given to reward clients who book their next Brazilian or Manzilian appointment within 4 to 5 weeks from their last appointment. To receive VIP pricing your appointment must be exactly 5 weeks or less from your last one with us.

A: Don't panic, we can still sugar you. We have fresh wipes for you to cleanse yourself and are comfortable to work around a tampon. If you prefer to reschedule, we just ask for 24 hours notice to move your appointment.
